HIP has access to extensive databases on defined populations through our partnerships. By focusing on the linkage of databases to track each patient across multiple systems of care, we create an exceptional tool for patient-centered research to improve healthcare delivery.

University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) : The SMPH is recognized as an international, national and statewide leader in educating physicians, investigating the causes of disease, exploring innovative solutions to medical problems and translating research into compassionate patient care. In addition, the school has strong partnerships with the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics and the University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation, providing educational and research opportunities to SMPH students, faculty and staff.

University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation (UWMF) : UWMF is the clinical practice organization for more than 900 faculty physicians of the UW School of Medicine and Public Health, the largest academic, multi-specialty physician group in Wisconsin, and one of the 10 largest medical groups in the nation. It is also the practice plan of the UW School of Medicine and Public Health, and the medical staff of the UW Hospital and Clinics, and over 60 clinical practice sites in Wisconsin. UW Health is comprised of UWMF, UWHC, and the UW School of Medicine and Public Health.

University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics (UWHC) : UWHC is a 471-bed facility that has more than 800 active medical staff, 80+ outpatient clinics, six intensive care units with 74 total beds, and seven satellite locations. UWHC is a Level One adult and pediatric trauma center.

Meriter Hospital : Meriter is a 448-bed non-profit community hospital that provides comprehensive health services for residents of Southern Wisconsin and Northwest Illinois. It is a major teaching affiliate of the UW School of Medicine and Public Health and the fifth largest hospital in Wisconsin.

Physicians Plus Insurance Corporation (PPIC) : PPIC is a health maintenance organization serving the Southcentral Wisconsin area, with approximately 100,000 enrollees. Two-thirds of PPIC is owned by Meriter.

Unity Health Insurance : Unity serves community-based managed care plans and serves approximately 75,000 enrollees in Southcentral Wisconsin. Unity is owned by UW Health.
